When the circuit breaker is the best isolating device for electrical lockout, Circuit-Safe provides the most effective, efficient, and dependable circuit breaker lockout system available.
- Supports the lockout requirements of OSHA 1910.147 and NFPA 70E
- Meets the NFPA 70 NEC 2008 and NEC 2011 requirements for permanent lockout hardware. For example, Article 410.141 reads as follows:
“The provisions for locking or adding a lock to the disconnecting means must remain in place at the switch or circuit breaker whether the lock is installed or not. Portable means for adding a lock to the switch or circuit breaker shall not be permitted.” Circuit-Safe is permanently located at the panel.
Why is the Circuit-Safe circuit breaker lockout device different?
- All the lockout hardware is mounted permanently at the panel
- Circuit Safe can be retrofitted to virtually any brand or model panel
The Circuit-Safe rail assembly is designed with pre-spaced slots that correspond to the breaker handles. Slotted pins are held in the Circuit Safe rail assembly slots when the rail cover is closed and locked in place. As a result, circuits are isolated by mechanically preventing the movement of the breaker handle and an electrical lockout is in place. The steel rail assembly is installed on the panel with self-tapping screws. Pins are stored on the panel in a provided pin holder.
